Although for many, Miami is all about spring break, mojitos, clubbing and people-watching (and we do recommend all the above activities when you’re staying in one of our awesome South Beach apartments) there’s a whole treasure-trove of museums and galleries too, if the desire to culturalize yourself becomes overwhelming…!

The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) or Miami Art Museum is part of the new 20-acre Museum park in Downtown Miami features international work from the 20th and 21st Centuries. The location on the shore of Biscayne Bay is beautiful – and you can take it in from the great waterfront restaurant.

Up in North Miami you’ll find the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), which is known for presenting provocative and innovative collections. With a bog focus on educational programs, you can often catch a lecture, workshop, or art class. Look out for the fantastic free Jazz performances.

If you love classical dance, then try to grab a night at the Miami City Ballet, or check out the Momentum Dance Company, who organise the Miami Dance Festival every year in April/May. Theatre lovers are bound to find something of interest at the Arsht Centre, one of the largest performing spaces in the entire country. Here you’ll find dance, theatre, opera and orchestra performances, and often hosts some of the biggest hits from Broadway.
